Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order on June 6, 2008 at 7 pm.

Present:  Jeramy Duncan, Curtis Duncan, Shonda Duncan, Bill Warthman, Tom Brooks, Les Westfall, Ed Chilcote, Pete Morris, and Robert Peoples.

We discussed the UHF/VHF Contest on June 14-16.  We need coax, Tom has some used coax that he will bring.  Curt has some that needs ends that he will fix and bring.  We are going to use the Burr Oak campsite this year.

Curt and Shonda to pick up groceries and other items for contesting.  Club approved buying a charcoal grill, 2 if we can only find small ones.  Jeramy to order steaks.

Field Day--is being held the same day as a Disaster Area "training" on Sunday the 29th in Albany at Alexander High School.  RACES to be involved.  Begins at 8 or 9 am and will last approximately 4 hours.

Bill to send Shonda newsletter to post on website.

We discussed building a new website. Bill to send Shonda the information.
 
At this time, we have $2614.49 in the treasury.
 
June Field Day--should we reserve a spot at Burr Oak to camp?  Curt is checking with Burr Oak for camp site information, is there electricity and how much is it to camp.  Good PR for club.
 
Contest--Shonda to get cabin info.  How far in advance can we reserve?  We would like to have cabin #22 if possible.  Need a credit card to reserve, what if we need to cancel?
 
We need the SCARF logo from Russ.
 
Shonda to send letter to new hams and new to the area hams.  Would also like to send a letter to all the previous members who have not renewed their membership.  Mention that club dues are only $2 per month.
 
The meeting concluded with Bill Warthman giving the club a tour of the Television station.
